Ionut Popescu, father of unique taxation, fathers new medical center

Ionut Popescu, former ministry of finances and senator for the late alliance, now started developing a cluster of medical centers in Romania. Proctoclinic, launched the first week following Easter, is the first in Romania (open in the Buzesti Plaza region, in sector 1) specializing in proctologic treatments.

When asked why he had chosen this field of business for his first investment outside the stock exchange market, the former ministry stated that he understood the promising potential of the medical care market and that, supported by some extraordinary physicians, he had decided to invest in such market.

Ionut Popescu is probably going to invest further in other medical fields since he is convinced that, as the Romanians’ welfare continues to improve, they are going to pay increasing attention to their health, choosing to be treated in Romania by Romanian physicians working under European standards.

The existence of valued physicians in Romania creates the premises for making such business prosperous, since the private sector and the investments in medical technology might create the required motivation for specialists to remain within Romania.

The medical tourism, existing so far in Romania only for plastic surgery and oral health, might expand to other fields, providing foreigners with other services up to the European standards but for Romanian pricing.

The PLD senator, promoter of the unique taxation and supporter of Fondul Proprietatea has invested so far more than Euro 250,000 in establishing a proctology clinic up to the western standards.
